I document the world today, as it was yesterday, as tomorrow, it won't be.

Photo: It Rains – Il Pleut

From the windshield of my truck, in stop & go traffic before Parliament Hill… The Tuesday-evening rain was coming in intense waves, but the setting sun peeked in below the cloud-line. Shot on a new-to-me camera (Canon EOS 1N), with a type of negative film I’d never used before (Kodak BW400cn) – I rarely end up shooting at 1/8000th of a second, but the light was right, and I managed to freeze the rain.

It seems like the middle group of people are looking straight at the camera, and the group on the right is looking to the bus just out-of-frame. The layers and convergence of angles also set a dramatic background of history and people, and every day life in downtown Ottawa.
